The "change parents" function no longer works on our tree...help!

Question

As of today (Jan 9), we cannot connect two parts of our large and labyrinthine family tree using the Change Parents function, which we have used successfully for years (and thus please don't offer a basic lesson in how to use Change Parents).  When, say, we use the "Set the father" button under Change Parents and then scroll down to the correct name, we cannot get the name we select to attach to the person we are assigning this father to.  This is a new glitch: unsure what is going on....

We just released a change to this feature to make it easier to search for the right person in large families, so it's possible this also introduced a bug that's affecting your case. So please first refresh the page to make sure you're getting the latest version of the site's code. If it's still not working, please get in touch via the feedback form so we can look into your specific case.

Thank you, greatly appreciated. Unfortunately, the bug remains. If useful, the same problem comes when one tries to attach parts of the tree using the "Add partner/ex" then "Partner with Person already on Tree" functions: the cursor remains on [none] and will not attach to most other names in the drop down menu.

PS I've found what may be a workaround, I'll let you know.  If I put a hyphen within the name I am trying to attach as a parent or partner, the system seems able to connect to it.  Then I can erase the added hyphen once attached.  I'll tyt this method next time I need to change a parent or add a spouse already on the tree...follow-up: had no problem with latest.  Will report if further problems, for now ok.

Alas, my workaround didn't work for long.  I fear your changes have made the platform un-functional for large trees. If that was not your intent, yes, I'd be grateful for some help, and thank you.
