How do I divide my LARGE family tree GEDCOM into individual files that represent smaller chunks of the whole?

GEDCOM has about 160 individuals at present. I'm having problems with wikitree, and am told it is because my GEDCOM contains too many individuals, and I should only work with smaller segments of family in a GEDCOME file at a given time (to avoid errors and problems merging profiles etc.). Any advice welcome!!!

I would love to avoid having to re-input all the same info again, and would rather find a way to create such files from the existing GEDCOM I have build.

Many thanks.
