How far can you go from the founder?

I'm doing a tree that's mainly cousin or dating relationships so I want to know the horizontal distance limit. My furthest is 8 degrees of seperation (cousin's ex's brother's ex's boyfriend's brother's boyfriend's parents), so i wonder how far it can go.

Pretty sure its infinate, as long as your computer can handle it, but Ive never tested the limits personally.
