Is there any way to add a generation between two existing entries?

I am creating a fictional family tree and realized that my timeline is off. I need to add an additional set of parents in between an exisiting parent-child relationship to create a grandparent-parent-child relationship. Is there any way to do this without deleting entries or starting over?

At the grandparent level, add the new parents (as children of the grand parents). Now change their parents of the grandchildren from their grandparents to their parents.
