How to view just a portion of the tree

My tree goes back to the 1600s and many of the ancestors had numerous children, who then had numerous children of their own, and so on. This results in very long horizontal lines between siblings, which can't fit onto one screen; I may have to scroll horizontally several times to see the next sibling. How can I focus on just one branch without all the other stuff getting in the way?

Under Options you can select how many ancestors, descendents and "others" appear. With those settings, and carefully chosing who you click on, you can usually get the sebset you're after.
