Is there a way to create an ancestor without direct link?

I wish there was an option to make a great-great-great-grandpa without having to create the three intervals. Is this possible?

There isn't a way to do it without creating the intervening generations. But I don't think it's particularely uncommon to have a couple of "unknowns" in a family tree.
