Is there a way to create a tree from an excel table using the API?

I have family information (names, parents, birth years, etc.) in an excel table, and I was hoping to use the API to quickly create this table instead of manually adding them one at a time. Is there a way to do this? The API page seemed to be focused on displaying the data, not inputting data into a new tree. Thanks

1) Export tree in CSV format.

2) Import it in Excel. Done!
